A new chapter in primary healthcare delivery begins for Nihi Community in Etche Local Government Area.
The Rivers State Primary Health Care Management Board (RSPHCMB) has commissioned the revitalised Nihi Primary Health Centre, with improved infrastructure, solar-powered electricity, new beds and medical equipment.
Nihi facility is equipped to provide immunization, antenatal care, inpatient services and deliveries at any time of the day or night, while efforts to strengthen staffing continue.
The commissioning also featured a one-day free medical outreach, bringing healthcare services closer to residents.
Speaking at the event, the Executive Secretary of RSPHCMB, Dr Chituru Adele, called on the community to protect the facility and help sustain the improvements.
"Revitalising a health facility is one step. Sustaining its services is a shared responsibility," he remarked.
The Local Government Vice Chairman, Honourable Obene Faith Onyeso, also pledged the council's support for its maintenance.
