Ikwerre LGA has broken ground for a new Primary Health Centre at Igwuruta-Ali, following recent engagement between RSPHCMB and ALGON on stronger State–LGA collaboration in primary healthcare.
RSPHCMB Executive Secretary, Dr. Chituru Adele, disclosed the LGA Chairman , Hon. Chief Charles Wobodo had been engaged through the ALGON process .
"The Honourable Chairman had informed me of the project after identifying the difficulty residents faced accessing existing health centres because of distance," Adele added.
Hon. Lucky Matthew, Chairman of the Igwuruta Community Development Committee, said the new centre would provide a closer healthcare option for residents of Igwuruta-Ali, Omuodukwu, Omunobo, Omuchi and other communities across Igwuruta, complementing existing facilities in the area.
RSPHCMB has committed to support the facility with medical equipment and personnel, with planning for staffing and other requirements beginning immediately.
