Governor Fubara Signs State Policy on Nutrition

Rivers State's chief executive has approved two significant nutrition-related documents: the Rivers State Policy on Food and Nutrition and the Rivers State Multisectoral Plan of Action for Food and Nutrition (RSMPFAN) 2024-2028. Professor Kinikanwo Green, the Executive Secretary of the Rivers State Primary Health Care Management Board, announced the signing and expressed gratitude toward the governor's dedication to reducing hunger and malnutrition throughout the state. He noted that the five-year action plan specifically targets improving nutritional outcomes especially mothers and children. Mr. Gift Oguzor, who serves as Secretary of the State Committee on Food and Nutrition, acknowledged the governor's political commitment to these policy frameworks, characterizing them as comprehensive frameworks aimed at tackling food insecurity in the region.
